A few years ago, I was riding a shuttle bus in the Road Atlanta infield when someone asked the driver how many people had died there. He said he didn’t know the exact number, but the worst accident happened in the infield. Some guy was apparently doing a burnout on a motorcycle, and a crowd was gathered to watch. Suddenly, the rear tire caught something and sent the bike flying through the crowd, killing several people (I think he said 8?).
However, “Road Atlanta infield motorcycle accident” doesn’t bring any news stories on Google that I can find, so I’m thinking he may have made it up. But still... Does anyone know if this is a real thing?
